Threads: how are brands announcing themselves

Meta has tied up their loose ends and have launched Threads a day earlier than previously announced. Some brands were ready and excited, other's caught off guard or perhaps not feeling the excitement yet.

The introduction of Threads as a strong competitor to Twitter has social media and marketing professionals feeling excited but also "oh another platform to manage".

For some Threads inspiration, let's have a look at some great

Netflix

Netflix was like a kid dropped off at school hours before any of their friends. They were keen and ready with a thought through angle… waiting for Beyoncé to join them.

Zoom

Zoom knows how to make a digital entrance with their classic Zoom meeting lingo. Users were quick to engage with and respond with more of this classic lexicon one-liners such as 'you're on mute'. 'your mic is off' and *turns camera off*.

Rollingstone

Rollingstone were giving the eve of first day at school vibes... or in their case eve of the first tour date concert. Rolling stone's were quick also to join the bandwagon about when will Beyonce join.

RuPauls' Drag Race

RuPaul's Drag Race were smart to cast Mistress Isabelle in it's 15th Season who gave the show so much content. And as such, RuPaul's Drag Race first post is definitely a vibe for social media professionals.

Paris Hilton

You never quite can guess Paris Hilton's next move, but her entrance to Threads wanted her followers to help you name her new puppy.

Malala Yousafzai

Got to love Malala's sense of humor.

Paramount Plus

There's an interesting spin... reminding us how many sleeps till Halloween. At least they didn't remind us how many till Christmas.

Jimmy Rees

Jimmy is fantastic in the social world and to hit the mark in shareable content. And I'm on board with his Threads lingo guide!

Netflix Australia and NZ

Serving a vibe for sure!

Lyft

Lyft is more focused on this cage match that may or may not happen.

The Project

The Project used this moment to remind us what else we could be doing with our time instead of scrolling through Threads.

Whilst The Project NZ shared their social media team photo along with an update on Twitter.

Ritz Crackers

Ritz were here to remind us to eat, crackers in particular. But also to start fights with other brands.

Overall, I've found Threads to be an easy platform to use and to get your head around and I'm excited to see what interesting things brands and content creators do here.
